12/10/2023 0 Comments Adventure time peppermint butler deathGiven that Finn and Jake still have their flesh this may have only been a morbid joke. He seems to have a secret dark past as he has close ties with Death revealed in "Death in Bloom." This acquaintanceship saved Finn and Jake from peril, but he later claimed he would steal the flesh from their sleeping bodies as payment. Also, it was Peppermint Butler who revealed that Finn was trapped in a dream and in danger in "King Worm." For example, in "Mortal Recoil," he realized that Princess Bubblegum was being possessed by the Lich, as evidenced by his hissing at the sight of her. It is likely Peppermint Butler is more intelligent and able than he lets people believe. Peppermint Butler is a trusted member of Candy Kingdom society, but evidence suggests there is more to him than meets the eye. ![]() Though an adult, Peppermint Butler can occasionally be childish and immature as seen in his squabble with Chet over who got to be the grillmeister in "The Real You." But in his latest episode "Gumbaldia" he was transformed into a baby peppermint butler and all of his memories and personality were lost due to Uncle Gumbald's Dum Dum juice. Peppermint Butler is generally portrayed as a happy, even-tempered, and carefree guy, as shown by his interactions with his fellow Candy People in "Slumber Party Panic." An ever-diligent worker, Peppermint Butler serves Princess Bubblegum as well as her kingdom in various ways such as carrying Princess Bubblegum, working as a jailer, and as a chef (seen in "Ricardio the Heart Guy," "The Duke," "The Real You" and "Too Young" respectively). Unlike most characters in the show, he has white eyes. His shoes, gloves, and bow-tie are red, matching his red stripes. He wears the traditional tailcoat of a butler, but opts for the less traditional blue version of the outfit. Ĭandy Tavern People ( Candy Tavern Bartender, Cookie Guy, etc.As is common with his occupation, Peppermint Butler is a well-dressed peppermint candy.Super Freak ( Gorflax, Gork, Kim, Trudy, Wee Wee, & Zap) Jake and Finn likely help Peppermint Butler out of naive generosity, instead of attempting to cover up a crime. Knowing a bit of Peppermint Butler's back story and violent tendencies makes this suggestion more credible. To avoid suspicion by eavesdroppers, the character tells his associates that he needs help "solving a problem." After coming to his senses, the character then desperately needs help getting rid of the evidence to avoid prosecution. In those situations, one of the characters does something violent and irrational, such as spontaneously killing a fellow mob member or a prostitute. The conversation is similar to the various "corpse disposal" situations that occur in mafia movies or in several episodes of The Sopranos. Peppermint Butler (As he leads Finn and Jake to Dead Goblin): "I swear I found him like this, I don't know what happened."įinn: "We'll take care of it, Peppermint Butler." Jake (As a voiceover, after the event takes place.): " W e.helped Peppermint Butler with his goblin problem." The exact exchange that the viewer is shown is as follows: Peppermint Butler himself may have been responsible for his death, due to his dark, mysterious past.ĭuring a flashback montage, Jake reminds Finn of their time spent supposedly disposing of Dead Goblin's corpse at the request of Peppermint Butler. The goblin's rib cage is also visible, indicating that it could have died from lack of food or dehydration. (The windows are broken, the molding of the door frame is peeled off to some degree, and a large chunk seems to be missing from one of its walls, among other indications of decay.)īoth the architectural style of the house and the pink trees in the background could indicate that his death and discovery took place inside the Candy Kingdom. The residence that Dead Goblin is seen in front of is in an advanced state of dilapidation. (Finn, Jake, and Peppermint Butler seem to be only a foot or so farther from the viewer than Dead Goblin, so his perceived size is not likely due to his proximity to the viewer.)ĭead Goblin is shown lying in a shallow puddle of water, evidently spilled by a nearby overturned wooden bucket. His head is roughly the size of Peppermint Butler's entire body, and his body is longer than Finn's body and head put together. He is also on the tall end of the scale, even when the varying heights of most goblins are taken into account. His ears and nose are broken and wrinkled. ![]() It could also be possible that he was dehydrated. He seems to be in a state of emaciation, as his rib cage is highly visible. His skin is a pale greyish blue color, which is very different from the varying shades of green that most goblins display. The outward appearance of Dead Goblin strongly indicates that he is indeed dead.
